2012 NC 4-H Shooting Sports State Tournament

The NC 4-H Shooting Sports State Tournament was held on September 22-23, 2012 at Millstone 4-H Camp Center in Ellerbe, NC.  Competing in the tournament were Holly Shelter 4-H Club members: Trevor Dickinson, Sid Collins IV, Kollson Fallin, and Patricia Whalen.  The Holly Shelter 4-H Club is a shooting sports club based out of Hampstead, NC that focuses on educating youth about rifles, shotguns, muzzleloading, archery, orienteering, firearm safety, and more!  During the tournament, 4-H youth from all across NC compete in different disciplines such as: shotgun, rifle, muzzleloading, and archery.  The following photos are from the tournament:

The 4-H Target Sports Program is a youth development education program, which uses a prevention education model that strongly emphasizes positive youth-adult interaction and peer leadership. It uses skills and disciplines of safe shooting and conservation to assist young people and their leaders in attaining knowledge and developing essential life skills.
