District Activity Day (DAD) is the 4-H presentation competition held every year in each of the 5 districts in NC.  Pender County is part of the Southeast District along with 17 other counties.  This year, DAD is being held at Lenoir Community College in Kinston, NC on June 22.

This competition is open to all 4-H’ers and is free!  Cloverbud youth, ages 5-8 are allowed to participate in DAD, with every youth receiving a participation ribbon.  Youth ages 9-18 as of January 1, 2012 are competitive age and can choose from a variety of categories.  You can also learn more about the different categories, suggested topics, and prize money by checking out the quick fact sheet.  Several of the categories give scholarship money to the 1st place winner to attend Congress, where the state presentation competition is held on July 17th.  More information about rules/guidelines can be found at: http://www.nc4h.org/nc4h-publications/presentations/
